Middle School

Building on the strong foundation of Elementary School, the Middle School teachers begin to introduce more complex ideas within each subject. Students are encouraged and taught to delve beyond the obvious and reach a deeper understanding of the concepts. They are taught to use critical thinking and reason to fully understand and grasp the core of the subject. Our rigorous curriculum recognizes and capitalizes on the passion and energy of the emerging young adults. It incorporates special field trips for the 6th and 7th grades that work in concert with their classroom learning to enhance the overall understanding of the subject. The 8th graders have an annual three day trip to Washington DC.

BMA understands that adolescents need subtle guidance and leadership. This is achieved by building personal relationships between the students and their teachers, particularly in the Judaic Studies department. Students are encouraged to take an active role in the decision-making processes that affect changes in their daily school lives. The Middot that they have been incorporating into their daily lives are reinforced and reiterated as an important part of becoming intelligent, well rounded young adults, ready to embark on successful High School careers.
