Kindergarten
The focus of Kindergarten is on developing the skills needed to transition from Early Childhood into Elementary School. The day is divided between General and Judaic Studies. A more structured environment allows children opportunities to participate in whole group lessons in addition to working on specific skills in smaller groups. With guidance from the teachers, students are given time to work at learning centers that encompass math and reading skills, creativity and writing, social studies and science. During the Judaic portion of the day, the students learn the weekly Parsha, keep Mitzvah journals, and are taught the Aleph-Bet as the foundation for Hebrew reading. Torah personalities that embody Mitzvot and Middot are highlighted as role models for our children. We continue to stimulate a love of learning and thinking. We encourage problem solving when faced with interpersonal dilemmas and personal choice in one’s free time activities. We foster a sense of independence and self-confidence, enabling every child to excel to their maximum potential.
